A little vacation is coming, the time to be able to rest for a few days. To forget about getting up early and to be able to extend in bed those “5 more minutes” that we can’t in our day to day life.
A little vacation is coming, the time to be able to rest for a few days. To forget about getting up early and to be able to extend in bed those “5 more minutes” that we can’t in our day to day life.
It is a time of reunions, hugs and family dinners and laughter. Nougat is coming to our homes and with it, the time to look in the storage room for that box full of Christmas ornaments and lights, which has a lot of glitter at the bottom. To put up the Christmas tree, or the Nativity Scene, or both! And that our pets decide to play with them.
It’s time to spend more time at home, to be able to rest surrounded by our loved ones, while watching the Christmas movies on TV every year, which the little ones enjoy so much.
It is time to decorate the kitchens with the Christmas plant, or poinsettia, which always gives a family member, even knowing that it will not last beyond Christmas. Few things are as Christmassy as this plant, with its red leaves full of life.
It’s time to take a leisurely stroll, to see the Christmas lights and the decorated store windows. To go out in the street with gloves, hats and scarves, to see the lights in the streets with the smell of roasted chestnuts in the background. To stroll calmly through the Christmas markets and think about the gifts that would make each of our loved ones happy.
New Year’s resolutions are approaching, full of good intentions such as starting at the gym, getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep or having a healthier and more balanced diet after all the holiday binge eating.
It’s time to dream, and not just by sleeping, because the Christmas lottery is coming. Those inevitable fantasies we have of what we would do if we hit “el Gordo”, although we would also settle for “a good pinch”.
One of the most beautiful times of the year has arrived, a time when joy is breathed in the streets and especially in homes. It is the season par excellence of nougat, marzipan, polvorones and the nostalgia of another year that is leaving us to make way for a new one.
And it has already arrived, it is already here.
Merry Christmas!
